Astreya vs Cafe Astrology

Cafe Astrology is a classic free English resource. Astreya is a bilingual platform computing to the same standards, plus Vedic charts and Human Design.

TL;DR: Both offer a free Placidus natal chart. Astreya adds a saved profile, Lahiri-based Vedic charts, a Human Design bodygraph, a dream dictionary and transit-based daily horoscopes in one account.

Do the numbers agree?

Yes - both use Swiss Ephemeris, so with the same birth time and time zone the planetary positions and house cusps agree to fractions of an arc minute. Differences people notice almost always come from a different time zone or house system, not from the underlying math.

When to use which

For a quick one-off English lookup, Cafe Astrology does the job. For a persistent profile with Vedic charts, Human Design, dreams and personalised daily readings - especially if you also want Bulgarian - Astreya covers substantially more ground.

Frequently asked questions

Is Astreya free?

The natal chart, daily horoscopes and dream dictionary are free. Extended reports and deeper analyses are paid.

Why do my charts differ slightly?

Check the time zone and daylight saving rules for your birth year, and the house system. That explains nearly every discrepancy.

Can I import my data?

You enter date, time and place once; your profile reuses it across Western, Vedic, Human Design and synastry modules.

Which Vedic standard does Astreya use?

Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa with Whole Sign houses - the standard in contemporary Jyotish.
