The most common error: January births
If you were born between 1 January and the lunar New Year, your animal is the previous year's. Tables that simply split the calendar year assign the wrong animal to roughly one in eight people. Astreya computes the true new-moon date, so the sign is correct.
Can you read both together?
Yes, and they combine well because they describe different scales: the Western sign is a seasonal imprint, the Chinese one a yearly and generational cycle. 'Libra, Fire Dragon year' carries more information than either alone.

Which zodiac is more accurate?
They are not competitors. The Western one describes the seasonal moment of birth, the Chinese one the yearly and elemental cycle. Accuracy depends on using the correct calendar, not on the system.
Does the Chinese zodiac have houses?
Not in the Western sense. It uses four pillars (year, month, day, hour) in BaZi, which is the closer analogue of a detailed natal chart.
